ARTIST STATEMENT
My art involves varying genres from representational to expressionistic and abstract. I am continually experimenting with mediums and methods, working instinctually. What motivates me is “pushing the envelope” by taking risks and injecting visuals and textures that beckon the viewer to want to get close.
I utilize acrylics, inks, oil sticks, gel mediums, ephemera and natural elements into this process. These multi-layered creations are never realistic. My inspiration comes from Mother Nature, her intense colors, seasonal changes, and organic designs rich in texture. I integrate all of this into each work, presenting my view of the world, occasionally using metaphors via nature to convey my thoughts.
My artistic endeavor is to stimulate and intrigue, make a connection with my viewers, sharing a mutual appreciation of our physical world, a commonality between us.
